Upcoming Race: G.A.S. MINI Cooper Invitational II
HO Tjet racers:
Sunday, March 5, 2006:
We all seemed to have fun at the first Mini Cooper Invitational, so I'm running it again...
This will be a VHORS-type race
with a twist:
All cars entered will have to meet VHORS Super Stock rules (shootout
rules)
All cars must have a MINI COOPER body. Can be new-style
MINI or classic Mini. Your choice.
All chassis must be short wheelbase unless you are using a long
wheelbase body.
Standard enduro race format, 3 min heats.
There will be an IROC warm-up race (2 min heats). I'll supply
4 cars matched to the lane colors
(Yep, these will be MINIs
too!)
There will be a $5 entry fee to cover food, drinks, snacks
and
a trophy/plaque for the winner :-)
***Overall winner gets the trophy based on cumulative
laps & sections added together from the 2 races***
AND - because space at my track is tight, I'm limiting this to
the first *12* racers!
Jack Rutherford (Fandango Racing) makes what seems to be the best modern MINI Cooper body available right now.
Classic Mini bodies are available from MEV and are in-stock at NJ Nostalgia Hobby.
If that's too pricey for ya, I'll have a body or 2 available for loan, and I'm sure other racers will too :-)
I also plan to have an open practice session a week or 2 before the race
For those who have not yet visited my track, it's a Maxtrack. The slot depth is similar to classic Tjet lock & joiner track, so long pins are not reccommended.
